Mommy Help!

That is what I heard last night coming from Raleigh's room. Let me explain:
Bryan had to work late so I was home alone with the boys. I had already given Hudson a bath(which I always do first), and Raleigh was now in the tub. I had already washed him and told him that he could play while I ironed their clothes for school. My room is at the end of the hall and I have the monitor still on (I probably will until they move out). Hudson usually will crawl back and forth between my room and his and Raleigh's room. Well, I was ironing away and I heard, "MOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYY! Help. Come here. Huddie needs you. MMMMOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYY! So, I took off running down the hall. When I got to the bathroom, Raleigh was still in there and so was half of Huddie. He was balancing with his tummy on the edge of the tub, feet in the air, and both hands flat on the bottom of the tub. (Did I not mention that he loves the tub!) Raleigh was trying to help him by pushing him out, but he couldn't seem to get it. I knew Huddie's face was not underwater, first because we hardly fill the tub and second because he was just a talkin'. I leaned over and picked him up. His hair was drenched. Thankfully he had on short sleeves so his clothes were only wet in spots. Once I got him out and Raleigh and I realized he was OK, we started dying laughing. I think Hudson had way too much fun on his little adventure. I later told Raleigh how proud I was of him and what a good job he did calling for me when there was an emergency. He said, "Fanks" and went about his way. Oh, I love having boys!

Skipping School

So, yesterday, I got the privilege to stay home with Hudson all day. Unfortunately, he was running a fever, but other than that he was his normal perfect self (Bryan stayed home with him on Wednesday and got to enjoy him as well). It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed each other so much. I started the day by walking Raleigh to school. I never get to do that so that was a lot of fun. Huddie and I played and went for a walk in the morning. We met Bryan at Sonny's for lunch, where he was totally charming. Then we both went home and took a nice long nap. It was a much needed and enjoyed day off . Huddie is starting to walk so much more and is also dropping everything he picks up so that he can use his new word, "Uh, Ooh". Although we missed Raleigh terribly, it was nice to have one-on-one time!

Outdoing Mom!

I understand that there are not many aspects in my life that I will ever do better or bigger than my Mom. I have been on the look out for a long time. Well, I have found one. I figured I would one-up her in the kid department. Yes, that is right, number three is brewing. Still early but I figured since Wildwood knew about it before I did, I would try to be the one to tell people. My Dad always says, you tell one Wildwoodian, you've told them all! I guess that is true. So much for keeping it on the down low! Needless-to-say, we are so excited and can't wait until September! Seems like such a long time away...

Silly Raleigh

My Raleigh says the silliest things. I wish that I have kept a journal of all the things he has said and done to amuse me (I may start today). I think I have mentioned before that when he gets up with me at 5:30am when I am getting ready for work, he follows me downstairs when I am leaving. He always asks for "A movie, a snack and a drink". Well, little guy loves to snack so a while ago we put a lock on the pantry and the refrigerator. So the other day he asked if I was going to lock the pantry when I left. I said yes, of course. While I was packing the boys lunches he kept coming in the kitchen and saying, "Mommy, it isn't locked, are you still going to lock it?" I answered him yes several times and finally said, "Raleigh, if you are hungry all you have to do is ask Mommy or Daddy and we will get you something." He replied, "I can't ask you guys", "Why not?" and he says, "Because I'm sneaky." What a turd.
This morning when I left it was dark at 6:30 as usual. For some reason he thinks I go to work in the middle of the night. So when I got in my car, the door to the garage from the house opened and he yelled, "love you Mommy, see you tomorrow!" I could eat him up!

I was prepared to lie...

"I'm only here for them" "I wasn't going to have one" "I don't even like ice cream" "They begged me to come" "You know it's made with skim milk!" "She must've just looked like me": These are only a few of the lies I was prepared to tell. Here is the story: Me and my boys have had a wonderful Sunday together. We had just had dinner, a turkey burger patty (no bun), roasted sweet potatoes (no olive oil) and baked beans with a big glass of water. We were feeling awful proud of ourselves for eating to good so Bryan suggested that we load up and go to the new McDonald's for ice cream! So we jump in the car and as we approach the drive-tru terminal I thought I recognized the car in front of me. Uh oh, it was my personal trainer, Rob. The same personal trainer that just last week came to my house and clean out my refrigerator and pantry of all of the crap I shouldn't eat. Panic set in. Instinct told me to duck, so I kissed the floor. I felt a little ridiculous so I took a more civilized approach and grabbed my wallet to hide behind. I sat up slowly as to not draw attention in his rear view mirror. I see him glance my way so I threw my wallet in front of my face to hide. All the while, my loving husband is sitting in the back of the bus, giggling at what is going on. Rob pulls forward and I start to relax. Then I thought, "Hey, what is he getting? Shouldn't he practice what he preaches?" So I get out my phone and text him, "Want 2 meet Monday and work off that McDonald's". I'm still waiting for his reply.

UPDATE: he replied, "haha were where you" and I replied "I have people everywhere"

Twilight

So, I just need to say that all of my girls in my 5th grade class have read Twilight and the following books and I wanted to see what it was all about. I started reading it Tuesday and I finished last night. I didn't want to put it down. I remember how some of you blogged about the book and how much you loved it. I am now there! I have started New Moon today and can't wait until the next time I have the chance to read again.

Who turned out the lights?

So I totally just posted a new post today (So please scroll down and look at my cute guys), but something happened afterwards that was really an eye opening. I think our day to day lives are so easy that we don't even think about how good we got it. Well, tonight as I finished making dinner our power shut off. This was strange for us because we never even loose power during a hurricane. Our lines our all underground, so I was a little weirded out. I immediately started lighting what few candles I have. Raleigh didn't understand the whole no power at all. He said well, lets just go watch a movie in my room. Bryan told him that Bob the builder was going to fix it. Raleigh tried to tell me that he could do it, he just needed a hammer, and a screwdriver to take off the light switch and trade it with a new one! Isn't that cute? We tried to explain everything we couldn't do to him and he started panicking a little. And then it hit me, what am I going to do with 2 young ones at 6:00, 2 hours before bedtime, in the dark. How would I iron clothes for tomorrow, how would I give them a bath, how would a change a poopy diaper if I couldn't really see it. And then the true panic set in, HOW IN THE HECK AM I GOING TO WATCH THE GOLDEN GLOBES? I thought, well maybe I'll just have to miss the pre-show and it will come back on by 8:00. You see where my priorities are? This stuff totally sucks me in. So as I sit her in front of my TV, with my power back on (it only went out 30mins) I am enjoying my Golden Globes pre-show. The ladies look amazing (Eva Mendez is my fave so far) and I have truly enjoyed the dresses. I hope that some of you have enjoyed it along with me as well!
